Overview: As a Clinical and Billing Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the operations within a healthcare organization in the beautiful city of Portland, OR. Your responsibilities will include managing billing staff, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, optimizing revenue cycle processes, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Supervision and Leadership:



  • Lead and manage a team of medical billing specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.


  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development among staff.


  1. Billing Process Management:



  • Oversee the entire medical billing process, from claim generation to payment posting.


  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline billing workflows.


  • Monitor billing metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).


  1. Claims Submission and Follow-Up:



  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of insurance claims, adhering to payer requirements and guidelines.


  • Monitor claim denials and rejections.


  • Coordinate with insurance companies and payers to appeal denied claims and resolve billing discrepancies.


  1. Patient Billing and Collections:



  • Oversee patient billing processes, including invoicing, statement generation, and payment posting.


  • Develop and enforce policies for patient collections.


  • Address patient inquiries and concerns regarding billing and insurance matters.


  1. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:



  • Stay abreast of changes in healthcare regulations, payer policies, and billing guidelines, ensuring compliance within the billing department.


  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of billing data and records.


  • Collaborate with compliance officers and legal counsel to address billing-related compliance issues and mitigate risks.


  1. Technology and Systems Integration:



  • Evaluate and implement billing software and technology solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy in billing processes.


  • Provide training and support to staff on the use of billing software and systems, promoting proficiency and utilization.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field or equivalent experience and training required.


  • Proven experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.


  • In-depth knowledge of medical billing practices, coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and insurance reimbursement processes.


  • Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems, with experience in system implementation and optimization.
